Mamool (also spelled Maamoul or Muʿammal) is a traditional form of handcrafted incense from the Middle East, made by infusing natural wood chips with fragrant oils, resins, and perfumes. It is widely used in homes, events, and personal rituals, especially in Gulf countries, to scent spaces, clothes, and hair with a luxurious aroma.

Mamool is a traditional form of Arabian incense, crafted by infusing natural wood chips with fragrant oils and resins. Burned over charcoal in a mabkhara, Mamool fills the space with rich, aromatic smoke that clings beautifully to clothes, hair, and surroundings. Used during special gatherings, holidays, and daily rituals, it reflects the essence of hospitality, elegance, and warmth.

Mamool typically comes in small, irregular chunks or compressed shapes, often:

  • Deep brown or black in color

  • Glossy or slightly sticky due to the oils and resins

  • Sometimes coated in powdered resin or crushed floral elements
